Our Mission
"To help people of all ages control diabetes
through education."
Diabetes Effects Us All
Diabetes is an epidemic with 2 out of 7 people already living
with it, and every 25 seconds someone is diagnosed
with diabetes in the United States. Chances are you know someone
in your circle of friends or family that is affected by this disease.
The impact of diabetes is instantly life changing. The complications
gone untreated can result in heart disease, blindness, nerve disorders,
amputations, and even death.
Diabetes does not discriminate. It doesn't matter
what race, gender, religion, ethnic background, or financial status
you may have. Once someone you know is diagnosed with diabetes it
causes that individual to do some real soul searching about lifestyle
including their eating habits, diet, exercise, and sleeping patterns.
Being diagnosed with diabetes could happen to you! There is hope,
and this is why we created the Diabetes Care Educational Association,
Inc. (DCEA). We ask you to have
a heart, and join the Diabetes Care team!
